Social Workers / Chaplains

Hospice Social Worker/Pastoral Care will be able to articulate and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Hospice Concept and Philosophy of Care. Both SW/Pastoral Care will be able to demonstrate knowledge of Death and Dying Concepts, Diverse Belief Systems, Death and Burial Systems, and Grief Process. Recognizes and appreciates different cultural attitudes towards Death and Dying. Identify specific cultures and differences, understand anticipatory grief and be comfortable working with complicated issues. Also be able to demonstrate strict compliance with the plan of care and standards of care and agency policy. Hospice experience preferred, but not required. Will train.
