Our History
A Pioneer in Health Care, Cynthia Chow made a difference in people's lives.
Born in Shanghai, China, Mrs. Chow immigrated to the United States in 1956 to attend the University of Illinois. She then continued her education at Loyola University in Chicago where she became the school’s first woman to pursue a master’s in business Administration.
Fifteen years ago, she founded the Lancaster Health Group. Mrs. Chow firmly believed that every patient should have an opportunity for rehabilitation, and her goal was to enable as many patients as possible to return home. She worked to provide the highest quality care possible for her patients, while at the same time ensuring the well being of her co-workers and employees. Because of her unique goals and dreams, Mrs. Chow was well loved and well respected throughout the industry.
Today, even after her passing, Cynthia Chow continues to make a difference in people’s lives. Her dream of providing continuity of care, expert rehabilitation therapy and loving hospice services to patients regardless of race, religion or financial standing is thriving thanks to those inspired by her nurturing and unbreakable spirit.
