Hospice of Illinois

Our hospice services include:

Registered nurses

Registered Nurses who specialize in assessing and managing pain will provide personalized care and train the patient's family members or caregivers. Our nurses are experts in state-of the-art pain management and comfort care. They will work closely with the patient's family and physician to maximize our patient's quality of life.

Social workers

Social workers provide emotional support, counseling to family members and care givers and assist with financial concerns and obtaining benefits and services.

Pastoral Care

Chaplains provide spiritual support for the patient, family, care givers and loved ones, and assist patients and their immediate circle with coming to terms with death and the dying process. They assist patients in finishing important tasks, saying their final goodbyes, healing broken family relationships, and completing their spiritual journey.

Volunteers

Volunteers are integral members of our hospice staff, providing companionship and support to the patient and family members. Volunteers are available to provide brief periods of respite for the family as well; but they are not intended to take the place of paid caregivers and as such they are not allowed to provide direct patient care.

Medical Supplies

Our team coordinates all prescription drugs, medical equipment and supplies related to the primary hospice diagnosis.

Bereavement counseling

Counseling and support for family members and loved ones at the time of death and for up to one year following the death of their loved one.

Music Therapy

Board Certified Music Therapists design individual music experiences to create a specialized program based on assessment, treatment planning and ongoing evaluation. Music therapy implements a holistic approach to healing in that it speaks to the well part of each person. The music is used therapeutically to address goals that are non-musical in nature, affecting physiological, physical, psychological, cognitive and/or social changes. Clients need not have a musical background to benefit from music therapy.
